text: John Philip Cozens Kent, was a British numismatist and archaeologist. He was born the son of a railway official in Hertfordshire and educated at Minchenden Grammar School and University College, London, where he was awarded a BA in 1949 and a PhD in 1951. After two years National Service he was appointed Assistant Keeper in the British Museum’s Department of Coins and Medals. There his main interest was the coins of the late Roman period, contributing to the reference book on Late Roman Bronze C
