text: John Beedell was a New Zealand-born, Canadian sprint canoer who competed in the late 1950s into the early 1960s. He competed for Canada at the 1958 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Prague and at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome. He was eliminated, along with his doubles partner Joseph Derochie, in the repechage round of the Men's C-2 1000 metres event at 1960 Olympics.
