Jiménez is one of the 38 municipalities of Coahuila, in north-eastern Mexico. The municipal seat lies at Jiménez. The municipality covers an area of 3040.9 km2 and is located on the international border between Mexico and the USA, here formed by the Río Bravo del Norte, adjacent to the U.S. state of Texas. In 2010, the municipality had a total population of 9,935. Oil was recently discovered in Jiménez, and U.S oil companies are in the process of setting operations on both sides of the border,
