Jim Chapman Dam is a dam in Delta County and Hopkins County, Texas, United States. The earthen dam was constructed in 1991 by the Southwestern Division of the United States Army Corps of Engineers with a height of 95 feet, and a length of 28,072 feet at its crest. It impounds the south fork of the Sulphur River for municipal water supply and recreation. The dam is owned and operated by the Corps of Engineers. The reservoir it creates, Jim Chapman Lake, has a 19,305-acre (7,812 ha) water surface
