Jean-Noël Herlin is an artist, active as a bookseller, archivist, curator, and appraiser born in occupied Paris, France on December 22, 1940. Between 1972 and 1987, he ran J.N. Herlin, Inc., an antiquarian bookshop in Manhattan, New York, specializing in 20th century art publications. In 1973, he began to work on what became the Jean-Noël Herlin Archive Project. After closing the shop in 1987, he has worked as an appraiser, curator, and writer.
