James Nathaniel Johnson was Bishop of St Helena from 1986 to 1991. Johnson was born in 1932. He trained for ordination at Wells Theological College and was ordained deacon in 1964 and priest in 1965. He served his title at Lawrence Weston (1964–66), after which he was successively Priest-in-Charge of St Paul's Cathedral, St Helena (1966–69) and then Vicar (1969–71) as well as Domestic Chaplain to the Bishop of St Helena (1967–71).
