Jürgen Nührenberg is a German plasma physicist. Nührenberg studied physics at the University of Göttingen and the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, where he received his doctorate from Arnulf Schlüter in 1969. He was a post-doctoral student at the University of Iowa and the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences of New York University.
