Six isotopes of radon, 217, 218, 219, 220, 221, 222Rn, occur in trace quantities in nature as decay products of, respectively, ⁱ⁷At, ⁱ⁸At, Ra, ⁴Ra, ⁵Ra, and ⁶Ra. ⁱ⁷Rn and ⁱRn are produced in rare branches in the decay chain of trace quantities of ⁷Np; Rn is an intermediate step in the decay chain of ⁸
