text: Ishi-no-ma-zukuri (石の間造), also called gongen-zukuri (権現造), yatsumune-zukuri (八棟造) and miyadera-zukuri (宮寺造), is a complex Shinto shrine structure in which the haiden, or worship hall, and the honden, or main sanctuary, are interconnected under the same roof in the shape of an H. The connecting passage can be called ai-no-ma (相の間), ishi-no-ma (石の間), or chūden (中殿). The floor of each of the three halls can be at a different level.
