The Ika people are an Igboid ethnic group found primarily in Delta State Nigeria & Edo State. The Ika people have just two(2) Local Governments; Ika South and Ika North East Local Government Areas of Delta State, and Igbanke and Ekpon areas of Orhionmwon, Uhunmwonde and Igueben Local Government Areas in Edo State. They speak Ika, an Igboid language. Some linguists consider Ika to be a dialect of the Igbo language as it is mutually intelligible with other dialects of the language.
