text: Hypatima toreuta is a moth in the family Gelechiidae. It was described by Alfred Jefferis Turner in 1919. It is found in Australia, where it has been recorded from Queensland. The wingspan is around 14mm. The forewings are whitish, the markings and some scattered irroration fuscous. There is a small tuft of whitish scales on the costa at three-fourths and several tufts of raised scales towards the base, two of them larger, the first above the fold at one-fourth, the second beneath the fold beyon
