Hussein Sheikh Abdirahman was a Somali judge and politician. Abdirahman served as the Minister of Defence from 1989 to 1990 under President Siad Barre. He was the first civilian to be appointed Minister of Defence during the Barre regime, as all of Abdirahman's predecessors had been members of the military. Abdirahman was born in 1941 in Aware, a town in the Aware district of Somali Region, Ethiopia. Abdirahman spent much of his career working in Somalia's justice system before entering politics
