Tanzania ratified the 2000 UN TIP Protocol in May 2006. In 2008 the Government of Tanzania did not fully comply with the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking; however, it made significant efforts to do so. In 2014, Tanzania was a source, transit, and destination country for men, women, and children trafficked for the purposes of forced labor and sexual exploitation.
