The Houthi tribe is a Hamdanid Arab tribe that lives in northern Yemen. The tribe is a branch from Banu Hamdan tribe. They are primarily located in 'Amran and Saada. The Houthi movement is named after the tribe. Al-Harith AlA'war, one of the first Ali's supporters, was from the Houthi tribe.
