title: House of Gundelfingen
text: The House of Gundelfingen was a Swabian noble family. First recorded in the 11th century, branches of the family held the lordships of Gundelfingen, Steusslingen and Justingen. Their ancestral seat was Burg Hohengundelfingen near Münsingen. One Swigger von Gundelfingen is recorded in 1105. The division into three branches is a consequence of the turmoils of the interregnum after 1250. Hohengundelfingen castle was sold to the Habsburgs in 1293, with whom the Gundelfinger were in a feudal relation
