Eight ships of the Royal Navy have borne the name HMS Newcastle, after the English city of Newcastle upon Tyne: HMS Newcastle (1653) was a 50-gun fourth-rate ship launched in 1653. She was rebuilt in 1692 and wrecked in 1703.
