text: Hitchin is a parliamentary constituency in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire which returned one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1885 until it was abolished for the 1983 general election. Further to the completion of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, the seat was re-established for the 2024 general election.
