text: The hisB gene, found in the enterobacteria, in Campylobacter jejuni and in Xylella/Xanthomonas encodes a protein involved in catalysis of two step in histidine biosynthesis, namely the bifunctional Imidazoleglycerol-phosphate dehydratase/histidinol-phosphatase.
