text: Sir Herbert Sydney Hudd was an Australian politician who represented the South Australian House of Assembly seats of Torrens from 1912 to 1915 for the Liberal Union and Alexandra from 1920 to 1938 and from 1941 to 1948 for the Liberal Federation and the Liberal and Country League. Hudd was born in Adelaide and educated at Grote Street State School. He worked in his father's chocolate factory at Medindie before becoming managing director of the company.
