Henry Wallop was a British soldier and politician, the second son of John Wallop, Viscount Lymington. Wallop was commissioned as a lieutenant and captain in the 3rd Regiment of Foot Guards in 1762. On the death of Henry Bilson-Legge, Member of Parliament for Hampshire in 1764, Wallop's elder brother, John Wallop, 2nd Earl of Portsmouth, agreed not to use his interest in the by-election in exchange for the post of groom of the bedchamber to the Duke of Cumberland for Henry.
