Hempstead is a village and civil parish in the Uttlesford district of Essex, England. The village is 7 miles (11 km) east from Saffron Walden and 6 miles (10 km) west from Haverhill. Hempstead is situated on the B1054 Saffron Walden to Steeple Bumpstead road.
