Harry James Mott III was a brigadier general in the United States Army. He was acting chief of the United States Army Reserve, a position he held from August 1, 1986, to November 30, 1986. Mott also was Deputy Chief of the Army Reserve from March 13, 1983, to July 31, 1986, and from December 1, 1986, to August 5, 1987. Mott was born in Newark, New Jersey, and raised in northern New Jersey and New York City. He joined the Naval Reserve in February 1947 and was appointed to the United States Naval
