Hans-Joachim Jentsch was a German lawyer and politician (CDU). He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1976 to 1982, mayor of Wiesbaden – the capital of Hesse – from 1982 to 1985, a member of the Landtag of Hesse from 1987 to 1990, minister of justice in Thuringia from 1990 to 1994, and a justice of the Federal Constitutional Court from 1996 to 2005.
