Habib Tanious Shartouni is the convicted assassin of the a Lebanese president-elect Bachir Gemayel, and the leader of theLebanese Forces, in 14 September, 1982. Shartouni who is a member of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), placed a bomb in the Kataeb Party headquarter in Beirut, where Gemayel was meeting with party members.
