text: The Gregorio Aglipay National Shrine is a memorial shrine in Batac, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. The shrine is dedicated to Gregorio Aglipay (1860–1940). He was a Catholic priest and served as a military chaplain and military vicar general during the Philippine Revolution in 1898. He was excommunicated in 1899 for rebelling against Spanish rule in the Philippines. He became a member of the Malolos Congress from 1898 to 1899, the lone member coming from the religious sector and also represented his
