The municipality of Grantola contains the frazioni Bellaria, Motta, Montebello, and Vicema. Grantola borders the following municipalities: Cassano Valcuvia, Cugliate-Fabiasco, Cunardo, Ferrera di Varese, Mesenzana, Montegrino Valtravaglia.
