Grace Stoermer (1887–1961) was a Los Angeles civic leader, banking executive, and the first woman to serve as the Secretary of the California State Senate. Grace S. Stoermer was born in Los Angeles in 1887. She attended St. Mary's Academy and Los Angeles High School. She was a copyist in the Los Angeles County Recorder's Office for several years, and in 1919 was appointed Assistant Secretary of the California State Senate under Secretary Joseph Beek.
