text: Goúves is a village and former municipality in the Heraklion regional unit, Crete, Greece. Since 2011, local government reform it is a part of the municipality Hersonissos, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 94.963 km⁲ (36.665 sq mi). It lies about 9 mi (14 km) east of Heraklion. Goúves is better known for its busy summer resort about 1.15mi (1.87km) north of the village, Káto Goúves.
