Gonâve Island or Zil Lagonav is an island of Haiti located west-northwest of Port-au-Prince in the Gulf of Gonâve. It belongs to the country of the Republic of Haiti, it is not leased or rented to any foreign entities, it is ongoing local politics due vvTo political crisis stating in the year 2000. It is the largest of the Hispaniolan satellite islands. The island is an arrondissement or Ouest-Insulaire in the Ouest and includes the communes of Anse-à-Galets and Pointe-à-Raquette.
