text: Godfrey Hugh Lancelot Le May (1920–2012) was a tutor and Emeritus Fellow at Worcester College, University of Oxford, and a former Dean of History at Worcester College. His focus area was modern British history. Born on 7 September 1920 in South Africa, Le May's family travelled from England to South Africa during the Boer Wars, in which his grandfather was an officer. LeMay served as a speech writer for Winston Churchill. He was a political advisor to Nelson Mandela. LeMay's most famous student
