The systematic name of this enzyme class is glycerol hydro-lyase (3-hydroxypropanol-forming). Other names in common use include glycerol dehydrase, and glycerol hydro-lyase. This enzyme participates in glycerolipid metabolism. It employs one cofactor, cobalamin.
