The Global Chess League is an over-the-board rapid chess league comprising six franchises that compete over a period of two weeks. It is a joint venture between Tech Mahindra and FIDE. Teams have six players each. The inaugural season took place in Dubai from June 21 to July 2, 2023. It involved ten round-robin matches, followed by a final match between the top two teams.
