The German Autumn of 1977 was a series of left-wing terrorist attacks against the West German government, capitalism, and society of West Germany. After captured leaders of the far-left militant organisation Red Army Faction (RAF) had been sentenced to life in prison in April 1977, a "second generation RAF" carried on with the attacks, to force their release.
