George Baker was an English baritone singer whose recording career extended from 1909 to 1962. He recorded for a variety of labels during his long career, initially with Pathé Records and later the Gramophone Company as well as other labels. Baker made his stage debut in 1915 and toured extensively during the 1920s, including international tours. He is especially associated with the comic baritone roles in recordings of Gilbert and Sullivan operas.
