Garita Kilómetro 26 was a federal inspection checkpoint operated by the Secretariat of Finance and Public Credit through its Mexican Customs Bureau. The name derives from its location, which is exactly 26 kilometers south of the Mexico–United States border, from Gateway to the Americas International Bridge following the main road until it becomes Federal Highway 85.
