G. Christian Barth was an American Lutheran minister and seminary president. Barth was born on May 12, 1883, in Sauk County, Wisconsin. He graduated from Concordia College in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1902 and from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1905. The first congregation he served was in Bertrand, Nebraska, from 1905 to 1910. He then served from 1910 to 1921 as the pastor of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Louis.
