Frederick Kingsbury Curtis I was a lawyer and a businessman, director of the Ann Arbor Railroad. He was secretary and treasurer, and a member of the board of directors of the United States & Porto Rico Navigation Company from 1903 to 1906. In addition, he served on the board of trustees of the Heye Foundation, which was associated with the Museum of the American Indian, founded by George Gustav Heye in 1916 and based on his collection.
