Frederick Joseph Cahill was an Australian politician. He was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1941 until 1959. He was a member of the Labor Party (ALP). Cahill was born in Ballina, New South Wales. He was the son of a timber feller and was educated at Parramatta Marist High School and St Joseph's, Lochinvar. He initially worked as a journalist and moved to Young in 1923 as a reporter for the Young Daily Witness. He was the director of publicity for Newcastle City Council
