text: France Vodnik (1903–1986) was a Slovenian literary critic, essayist, translator and poet from Ljubljana. He was mostly active in the interwar period, when Slovenia was part of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. He was the younger brother of the poet and critic Anton Vodnik. Vodnik completed philosophy studies at the University of Ljubljana. France Vodnik was one of the main exponent of Slovene Christian left intellectuals who gathered around the journal Križ na gori.
