Filseta is a feast day observed by the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church in commemoration of the Dormition and Assumption of Mary. The fasting and liturgy extends for two weeks starting from 7 August to 22 August. Filseta means movement in the ancient Eritrean and Ethiopian language of Ge’ez and is used Tewahedo Church in reference to The Assumption of Saint Mary into Heaven.
