text: The Ferento Roman Theater is an ancient Roman edifice in Ferento, province of Viterbo, region of Lazio, Italy. It was built in the 1st century AD near the decumanus of Ferentium. The theater went into decline after the fall of the Western Roman Empire. The medieval town of Ferentium underwent further decline after its destruction by Viterbo in 1172. The theater was excavated in the 19th-century. The structures is still used in the summer for open-air concerts, representations and other spectacle
