text: The Farmer's Union Building in Layton, Utah, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It was designed by local architect William Allen. It is a two-story roughly square building now, built in three sections. The building was deemed significant for NRHP listing for it having housed the Farmer's Union Mercantile Institution, which was the first commercial enterprise in Layton. The building served as Layton's "primary meeting hall, social center, and recreational facility." T
