text: Eucrosia bicolor is a species of plant found in Ecuador and Peru. Its natural habitats are seasonally dry lowland areas. It was the first species of Eucrosia to be scientifically described, in 1817, and the first to be introduced into cultivation in Europe, flowering outside its homeland for the first time in 1817. It is the most widely grown species of Eucrosia. It grows from bulbs up to 4.5 cm in diameter. The slightly glaucous leaves, which usually appear by flowering time, have short petiole
