text: Erythres is a village and a former municipality in the northernmost part of West Attica, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Mandra-Eidyllia, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 61.145 km2. It is part of Athens metropolitan area. Erythres was named after the ancient city of Erythrae, the ruins of which are located 1.5 km east of the present town.
