Erwin Panndorf was a German communist, trade unionist and anti-fascist resistance fighter who became a Soviet GRU intelligence agent. In Gera, he was an active member of the Young Communist League of Germany (KJVD) and the Communist Party of Germany (KPD). As a trained locksmith, he moved to the Soviet Union in 1930 to find work.
