Ernesto Bernardo Álvarez Terojín was an Argentine and Chilean football striker. He played club football in Argentina and Chile. Álvarez played youth football for América de Funtes and Rosario Central before joining Banfield in 1948. He went on to make 152 appearances for the club, scoring 56 goals. In 1957 he moved to Chile toplay for Green Cross and in 1959 he joined Universidad de Chile where he became an important member of the team that became known as the "Ballet Azul".
