The Emirate of Palu was a Kurdish emirate which existed in around Palu from 1495 to 1839 or 1850. During the collapse of Aq Qoyunlu, Husein Beg, one of the Kurdish lords from the Principality of Eğil, conquered the fortress of Palu in 1495. He established his own principality, which would later be known as the Palu Emirate. Although Husein Beg surrounded Ergani Castle, one of the most important castles in the area, he died before he could capture the castle. Administration of Palu was passed to
