Emérito Bono Martínez is a Spanish academic and politician for the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), although he previously belonged to the Communist Party of Spain (PCE). Married with three children, Bono graduated in Economic Science at the University of Barcelona. He joined the PCE in 1966 while at the same time maintaining his link with the Roman Catholic Church. During the dictatorship of Francisco Franco he worked for the restoration of democracy in his native Valencian Community. A
