Eivind Smith is a Norwegian jurist and professor of law. He was born in Bærum, and took the dr.juris degree in 1979. Since 1986, he has been Professor of Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Oslo. He is a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters. He has published a large number of juridical books and articles. He continues to update and edit the book Forvaltningsrett after the original author Torstein Eckhoff died.
