Eileen Constance Greenwood RE was an English artist, printmaker, and art teacher, specializing in etching and aquatint. She is also rarely known by her maiden name of Eileen Messenger. The daughter of Harold Messenger and Nellie Spackman, who had married the year before, she was born in London in 1915. She was educated at the Camden School for Girls and studied at the Royal College of Art from 1934 to 1937, the Courtauld Institute of Art, and Goldsmiths' College. In 1935 she became an Associate
